The 32-year-old - who burned through four seasons at Real Madrid in the wake of changing from Portsmouth in 2009 - commonly ended his agreement with Emirati club Al Jazira in December.
"I am exceptionally upbeat to have signed for the place where I grew up club," said Diarra.
Diarra - who has fought long haul knee issues - won three trophies amid his opportunity at the Bernabeu, including one La Liga title.
Spells at Russian sides Anzhi Makhachkala and Lokomotiv Moscow took after before the French international put in two years at Marseille, moving to Abu Dhabi in April 2017.
"Paris St-Germain speaks to a considerable measure to me and, with the worldwide measurement the club has taken in late seasons, it is each player's fantasy to play here," Diarra said.
