Liverpool attacker Mane out for up to six weeks with hamstring injury

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane could be out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury picked up on international duty with Senegal.

Mane, 25, was replaced in the 89th minute of a 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Cape Verde on Saturday.
He is set to miss Premier League games against Manchester United and Tottenham and both Champions League group fixtures against Maribor.
Mane has scored three goals in five league appearances so far this season.
Senegal, who are top of their World Cup qualifying group, face two crucial games against South Africa on 10 and 14 November, which Mane is also likely to miss.
He was suspended for three games earlier this season after being sent off in the 5-0 defeat at Manchester City, while he also missed the end of last term with a knee injury.
Liverpool won just once in seven matches in all competitions while Mane was at the African Nations Cup in January.
They average 2.2 Premier League goals with Mane in the team, compared to 1.6 goals in his absence.

Mane named Player of the Month

Sadio Mane has picked up the Premier League Player of the Month award for August following impressive goal scoring start to the 2017/18 campaign.

The Liverpool forward has continued on from his fine debut season on Merseyside, scoring in each of their opening three Premier League fixtures.
Mane scored his first for the season in Liverpool's opening-day 3-3 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road
on August 19, levelling the scoring for the Reds midway through the first half.

It was then on to a highly-anticipated Anfield clash against Arsenal, a game in which Liverpool showcased their newly-formed attacking trio of Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Mane named Player of the Month

All three got their names on the scoresheet and heaped the pressure on Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, helping Liverpool to a comprehensive 4-0 victory,
with Mane also chosen as the man of the match.
The Senegal international picks up the award having fended off competition from Phil Jones, Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan [Manchester United], Alvaro Morata [Chelsea], Jonas Lossl [Huddersfield] and Liverpool team-mate Salah.
This is the first time Mane has picked up a Premier League Player of the Month award since his move to England from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in September 2014.
