Barcelona have achieved a consent to sign Brazil and ex-Tottenham midfielder Paulinho from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande for 40m euros (£36.4m).
It would be Barcelona's initially marking since they sold striker Neymar to Paris St-Germain for a world record £200m.
Paulinho, now 29, joined Tottenham for £17m from Corinthians in 2013 and moved to China two years after the fact.
He will have a restorative in Spain on Thursday with a view to finishing the move that day.
Paulinho has built up himself as a customary in the Brazil side since the arrangement of Tite as mentor a year ago.
He has scored nine goals in 41 worldwide appearances since making his debut in 2011, and was an individual from the squad that won the Confederations Cup in 2013.
He had a noteworthy impact in Evergrande winning last season's Chinese Super League and is set to leave with them five focuses clear at the highest point of the table this term.
Barcelona have likewise made offers for Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele and Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
Dortmund dismissed the offer and have since suspended Dembele for missing preparing, while Coutinho delivered a transfer request after Liverpool turned down Barcelona's offer.
