The England defender pulled up with a hamstring issue in the first half against Leicester, and could be out until 2018
Manchester City center back John Stones could miss up to a month and a half in the wake of leaving Saturday's match against Leicester City with a hamstring issue.
The England defender pulled up gripping his hamstring 28 minutes into the challenge at the King Power Stadium, and must be replaced by Eliaquim Mangala.
The 23-year-old at first gave off an impression of being enduring uneasiness in his hamstring amid England's well disposed with Brazil on Tuesday, and his damage on Saturday appeared to be a continuation of that issue.
In his post-coordinate question and answer session, Pep Guardiola affirmed the 23-year-old is set for a broadened spell on the sidelines.
"It is deplorable for us and for John and I figure he may be out for a month and a half with that sort of damage," Guardiola said.
"We don't have a considerable measure of focal protectors, yet the soul in the group – and with every one of the players – is great so we will discover an answer."
Vincent Kompany made his own particular profit from damage for Saturday and he looks set to be given a keep running of matches in the focal point of high-flying City's defence.
City would go ahead to overcome Leicester 2-0 on account of objectives from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne – the club's tenth straight alliance win.
